GCSE Gaeilge

Shimna College’s Irish Department has forged links with 3 local Irish Medium providers in Castlewellan, Downpatrick and Newry.

Last year 3 students from the Irish Medium primary school in Castlewellan (Bunscoil Bheanna Bhóirche) sat and passed their GCSE Irish exam.

These students are now preparing for GCSE ‘Gaeilge’ which is the Irish equivalent of the GCSE ‘English’ exam at the end of Year 12 or fifth year.
