Programme of activities 2006 – 2007

10th October – French brioche and French music 

17th October – French quiz (about France, French singers, French food…) and French cakes and sweets (des madeleines and des caramels) 

24th October – Halloween posters and Halloween in France

 7th November – Game of mimes (new French vocabulary) and French caramels

 14th November – Game “Guess who?” 

21st November – Game “jeu de l’oie” (revision of fun French vocabulary) 

28th November – Game of mimes and French cakes (Galettes bretonnes from Brittany) 

5th December – Christmas cards and explanation of how Christmas is celebrated in France (Christmas vocabulary)

 12th December – Christmas cards and Christmas songs (Vive le Vent and Petit Papa Noel) 

23rd January – “La Galette des Rois” , The person who finds the “ feure”   or bean is king or queen for the day.

30th January – French songs and French singers (Diam’s, Amel bent, Yannick Noah, Corneille, Chiméne Badi…), Vocabulary

 6th February – Crepes for “La Chandeleur”, This is pancake day, pancakes are prepared with friends at home with family and flipped in the pan while holding a golden coin. Tradition says that performing this “acrobatie” brings good luck.

 13th February – Saint Valentine’s cards, conversation, vocabulary and expressions.

 20th February – Hangman.

 27th February – French expressions such as “passer du coq ál l’ane” and the game of “mots meles” about “La Galette des Rois”.

 6th March – French magazines (Voici, France Dimanche, Closer) and Galettes bretonnes 

13th March – Movies and television (Vocabulary and conversation)

 20th March – Easter activities (Vocabulary and Easter cards), games such as “ots melés”

 27th March – Easter cards and conversation

 3rd April – Easter cards and discussion about the movie: “The holidays of Mr Bean”, in France and Easter plans.

 17th April – Mimes, each time somebody guesses what it is they can have a piece of “Poule en Chocolat” 

1st May – Last French Club! Powerpoint presentation about my region, my town and my family. Exchange of addresses. Goodbye! Give your point of view about the French Club! French food “un Chinois, brioche fourrée crème patissiére”.
