Our priority is to provide a programme which will challenge and support students in an 11-18, integrated, academically excellent, coeducational, all-ability college. Within each area of study, every opportunity is taken to reflect the processes of integration.
All students study English and English literature, mathematics, science, technology, history, geography, art, music, drama, PE, religious studies, information technology, two modern languages. Languages currently offered in the college are French, German, Irish, and Spanish. Latin is also available to all students as an additional course. All of these subjects are available at GCSE along with additional mathematics, business studies, computer studies, business & communication and media education. As part of the Learning for Life and Work programme, all students also study employability, personal development, citizenship and home economics.
Sixth Form
A level courses are available in English literature, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, technology, history, geography, politics, French, German, Spanish, Irish, art, theatre studies, music, media studies, moving image arts, religious studies, business studies, sports studies, travel and tourism and ICT.
All subject areas make use of our excellent information technology facilities, which are networked throughout the college through C2K and are fully accessible from home. All students study ICT during the first year in order to ensure that they will be able to make confident use of computers across the curriculum. We are currently setting up our VLE, which will greatly increase student access to support materials through ICT, and many short courses are already available through the Study Centre on our website.
