 Careers

From year 8, employability is included in the curriculum for all students.  Additional programmes are provided by Sentinus, by Young Enterprise and by W5.

From year 10, students begin to put together their personal career profile. They meet the college careers officer, and take part in self-assessment and careers research so that they can select their GCSE subjects with confidence.

Careers work in years 11 and 12 culminates in a work shadowing opportunity, and personal interviews with the careers office in order to select Advanced level courses or other careers opportunities.

In sixth form, our students all take part in work experience, and undertake the Odyssey personal careers programme. Students visit universities and colleges and take part in interview training ahead of their UCAS applications. Students have opportunities to take part in voluntary work, and the college prefect and intern system.

A wide range of careers self-assessment programmes and research materials is available to students through our college intranet and our website.
